Safety Recall Notice for SRTA Pulleys. (Manufactured 2002-2004)

The Recalled Product:
- Single Sheave Pulley (Manufactured 2002 – 2004)
Stainless Steel swing cheeks with markings “SUPP X SRTA” “MAX 42KN” Alloy sheave.
- Double Pulley (Manufactured 2002 – 2004)
Stainless Steel Stainless Steel swing cheeks with markings “SUPP X SRTA” “MAX 42KN”
Alloy sheaves.
- Pulleys with ,markings and stainless steel cheeks
All pulleys described above should be removed from service immediately. In the event of any doubt or uncertainty as to whether a pulley fits within the above descriptions, the pulley should be removed from service immediately and you should contact SRE.
All other pulleys are not affected by this Recall Notice.
The Problem:
In extreme conditions, the axel in some pulleys supplied by SRTA may work loose. If so, this will allow the cheek to separate from the sheave and, in extreme cases, could lead to pulley failure.
SRE is therefore recalling all pulleys described above. Recalled pulleys will be replaced free of charge with an equivalent Single Rope Technique Equipment pulley.
Instructions for returning pulleys:
Pulleys complying with the above description should be returned to the address below:

Returned pulleys will be replaced within two working days of delivery. If pulleys cannot be returned to SRE then they should be removed from service and destroyed.
SRE recognises and issues this Notice in the interests of safety.
